The Best Authentic Mumbai Style Vada Pav in Auckland

If there's one thing every Mumbaikar misses when they move away, it's a proper Vada Pav. That first bite outside a train station, hot off the tawa, wrapped in a bit of newspaper. We wanted to bring that exact feeling to Auckland, so we did.

Street style, the Mumbai way

Ours isn't a fancy, dressed-up version. It's the real thing. A soft pav, a crisp golden batata vada, and that punch of garlic and green chilli chutney. Nothing dumbed down, nothing skipped. Just how the carts back home make it.

Everything fresh, every time

We don't do day-old vadas sitting under a lamp. The potato filling is made fresh, the vadas are fried to order, and the pav is soft and warm when it reaches you. Fresh is the whole point of street food, so we don't cut corners on it.

Home made BLH masala and chutney

This is what makes ours taste like ours. Our BLH masala and the chutneys, the dry garlic one, the green one, the sweet tamarind, are all made in house by us. No shortcuts from a jar. That balance of spicy, tangy and a little sweet is the secret, and it's Vihangi's recipe.

Good food that doesn't cost a bomb

Street food should be for everyone. Our Vada Pav is $8 at the Clark Street truck and $10 at Lynn Mall, add cheese for $2 if you're feeling it. A proper feed that won't empty your wallet, which is exactly how it's meant to be.

All 100% pure veg, with Jain and Swaminarayan options, just ask. Come grab one at either truck, check our Find Us page for hours and directions, and come say namaste.
